Marriage & Family Therapy Intern (MFT-I) serving Layton, Utah and Surrounding Areas

Hi, I’m Candace Lance.

I am a marriage and family therapy intern (MFT-I) supervised by John Howard, LMFT at Aspire Counseling Services in Layton, UT. A 200-hour registered yoga teacher. And someone who has lived enough life to actually get it.

I focus on all things couples. Communication, conflict, intimacy, infidelity, anxiety, trauma and the conversations most couples never get to have. I also work with women navigating anxiety, trauma and major life transitions. Taboo topics are welcome here. Nothing is off limits.

Sessions feel like a real conversation. We might get deep. We might laugh. We might bring in a little woo. Whatever it takes to get somewhere real. I start with what is already working and we build from there, entirely on your terms.

You might be here because…

  • Your relationship feels more like a standoff than a partnership.

  • Anxiety is making it hard to show up for the people you love.

  • You’re parenting and things feel overwhelming right now.

  • You’ve been through something hard and you’re still carrying it.

  • You’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or the emotional weight of the perinatal season.

  • Life has handed you more than you expected and you’re running on empty.

  • You just know something needs to shift and you’re ready to do something about it.

  • You love each other but cannot stop fighting, or you have stopped trying altogether.

  • You are sitting with the question of whether to stay or go and need a real space to figure it out.

  • You are navigating sexual disconnection or intimacy issues and want a therapist who will not flinch.

  • You want a therapist who will actually get it, not just nod along.

  • However you love, whoever you are, you are looking for a place where you belong.
